Ostend has always been a seaside resort loved by all. When the Belgian king chose it as his summer residence, the laborers followed brought by the first railroad track from Bruxelles. And the artist loved it for its light above the sea.
A bike trip through Ostend is traveling a city that is loved by working class men, by artists and by the well-to-do’s. Famous people like the Belgian novelist Hugo Clause and singer Marvin Gaye lived here looking for inspiration.

And of course the fishermen who heroically try to save the fish stock by putting unknown fish on your plate. Not that it really helps as long as the big Dutch fishing boats continue emptying the sea. Ostend in the picture.
